Tip
for domain name hosting, make sure your domain is using:

Mail Configuration
General POP3 / IMAP4 / SMTP setting
POP3 server: mail.vif.com
IMAP4 server: mail.vif.com
Email Address: username@vif.com
POP/IMAP username: username (without @vif.com)
SMTP server: mail.vif.com
Tip
for sending email while you are not connected to VIF IP’s use:
- SMTP server: smtp2.vif.com
Outlook Configuration
- Open Outlook Express
- From the drop down menu, select Tools, Accounts
- Click the Mail Tab, then on the Add button and select Mail
- In the Display name box, enter your name as it to appear at the recipient’s end, Click Next
- In the Email address box, enter your email address ex: username@vif.com click next
- Select POP3 in the drop down box
- Enter the mail server mail.vif.com as the Incoming mail POP3
- Enter mail.vif.com as the Outgoing mail SMTP server
- Click Next
- Select Log on using and enter your username (without @vif.com)
- Enter your password
- Select Finish
macOS Mail Configuration
- Open the Mail application.
- Open the preferences window by clicking Mail then Preferences… in your menu bar.
- Click the + to add an account.
- Add Account
- Enter your Full Name.
- Enter your Email Address (including “@vif.com” at the end).
- Enter your Password. If your User Name is the same as the one used to connect to the internet, the password will also be the same as the one used to connect to the internet, otherwise it is the password specified when the email was created or the last password you have used for this User Name.
- Click Continue
- Incoming Mail Server
- Select “POP” or “IMAP” for Account Type.
- Enter a short description for the email account.
- Incoming Mail Server: mail.vif.com
- Enter your User Name (same as the Email Address from the previous step but without “@vif.com” at the end).
- Enter the same password as the previous step.
- Click Continue
- Outgoing Mail Server
- Enter a short description for the outgoing mail server.
- Outgoing Mail Server: mail.vif.com
- Do not select “Use Authentication”.
- Click Continue
- Outgoing Mail Security
- Do not select “Use Security Socket Layer (SSL)”.
- Click Continue
- Account Summary
- Review the changes. If there is something you wish to change click the “Go Back” button.
- Once the account has been created go to the advanced settings of that account by clicking the “Advanced” tab and remove the checkmark in the “Use SSL” checkbox.
- Note: IMAP users will have “IMAP” as account type in the “Accounts” column as well as “143” as “Port”.
- Your email account has been set up. You can now close the Preferences window and begin retrieving and browsing your mail.

Now install any FTP software like CuteFTP, FlashFXP, WSFTP, Filezilla ,etc… Once FTP software installed, use these informations below to login to your ftp to modify your files
Host: ftp.yourdomainname.com or .ca or .net . org , ext… Username: Your FTP Username Password: Your FTP Password Port: 21

- Enter your username and password you were given for your webhosting service.
- Once logged in, you can setup and create your website.
- You can make the site directly on the web interface by clicking on Files under “Create a Custom Website” or you can use a traditional FTP Software to create your website.
How to FTP into the Plesk panel
- First you must create an FTP Access on your plesk panel if you do not have one. When we create the account for you, your username and password provided is the FTP Access information. However if one is not created, you must click on FTP Access on your account and then Add a username/password.
- Use a free software like WinSCP, CuteFTP, FlashFXP, WSFTP, Filezilla …
- Choose File Protocol : FTP
- Make sure the port is: 21
- For Hostname you must enter your domain: “ftp.yourdomainname.com”
- Enter your FTP Username
- Enter your FTP Password
