MAC OS-X Connection Guide

 OS-X Tiger

  1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
  2. Click the Network icon.
  3. Click the arrow box on the Show pop-up list and choose Built-in Ethernet.
  4. Click on the PPPoE tab.
  5. Check the box next to Connect using PPPoE.
  6. 6. In the Account Name field, type your email address.
  7. 7. In the Password field, type your password.
  8. Check the box next to Save password.
  9. Check the box next to Show PPPoE status in menu bar.
  10. Click the PPPoE Options button.
  11. Check the box next to Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications.
  12. Uncheck the box next to Prompt to stay connected if idle for X minutes.
  13. Uncheck the box next to Disconnect if idle for X minutes.
  14. Check the box next to Disconnect when user logs out.
  15. Click the OK button.
  16. Click on the TCP/IP tab.
  17. Click the arrow box on the Configure pop-up list and choose Using PPP.
  18. Delete the contents of the Domain Name Servers field.
  19. Delete the contents fo the Search Domains field.
  20. Click the Apply Now button.
  21. Close the Network window.
  22. 22. From the Apple menu, choose Restart.

OS-X Leopard

  1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
  2. Click the Network icon.
  3. Click the plus to create a new connection.
  4. Change interface to PPPoE.
  5. In the Service Name field, type Vif Internet.
  6. Click the “Create” button.
  7. In the Account Name field, type the username.
  8. In the Password field, type the password.
  9. Click the “Advanced” button.
  10. Go to the PPP tab and check “connect automatically when needed”.
  11. Click on the “OK” button and then the “Apply” button.
  12. Restart Computer.

OS-X Snow Leopard

  1. Open System Preferences
  2. Go to Network
  3. Click on Ethernet on the left side
  4. Select Create PPPoE Service from the Configure IPv4 list
  5. Choose a name for this connection
  6. Click apply
  7. Configure connection
    • Leave the PPPoE Service Name blank
    • Enter your VIF username followed by @vif.com in the Account Name field
    • Enter your password in the Password field
    • Check the Remember this password box
    • Click connect
  8. You are now connected, to reconnect you can click on the new connection that appears on the left side of the network setting and click on the connect button
